Hannah Wells has finally found someone who turns her on. But while she might be confident in every other area of her life, she's carting around a full set of baggage when it comes to sex and seduction. If she wants to get her crush's attention, she'll have to step out of her comfort zone and make him take notice...even if it means tutoring the annoying, childish, cocky captain of the hockey team in exchange for a pretend date.

...and it's going to be oh so good

All Garrett Graham has ever wanted is to play professional hockey after graduation, but his plummeting GPA is threatening everything he's worked so hard for. If helping a sarcastic brunette make another guy jealous will help him secure his position on the team, he's all for it. But when one unexpected kiss leads to the wildest sex of both their lives, it doesn't take long for Garrett to realize that pretend isn't going to cut it. Now he just has to convince Hannah that the man she wants looks a lot like him. (link)

Review: 3/5

OK back to our regularly scheduled programming.… Here's another review I thought y’all might like! Technically, I read this book immediately after I read Icebreaker,; the full smut book about the hockey player- aforementioned in my blog posts. And I’m not gonna lie, these books were so similar that I’m taking some liberties to combine the playlist for both books into one. If you’ve seen my thought process behind my playlists, you would understand that that’s a big deal.  I make the playlist extremely personalized to the book, the book's vibes, the characters, and the plot. However, I couldn’t find a huge justification for making two different playlists for these two (not very different) books.

I think I liked this book because I wasn’t quite ready to leave the world of Icebreaker, but it did not live up to my expectations that Icebreaker had set.

The only thing I can say about this book is meh. Like I said before, it was kind of a letdown from Icebreaker. BUT, but, it was still very smutty, and the plot line was very easy to follow along. So that’s a win in my book (haha literally). I liked the differences in main female characters between the books, because I feel like if the main women characters were more similar than they already were, I would’ve had an especially hard time. I mean the themes and plot were basically twins. I’d give them a twin-flame justification; they weren’t exactly the same, but you knew one was a rip-off of the other. I’m still unclear which is the original though, and I feel like I’m in one of those sci-fi movies where there’s a clone and I have to pick which one will die. “No, Kylee, I’m the original hockey smut book!” “No, Kylee, I am! Remember when you read me in three days?” And it’s that back and forth until I eventually turn the gun on myself. How dramatic.

I hate to say that I don’t have much to mention on this book. I do think that I remember the Icebreaker smut being a lot better than The Deal smut. But, if you’re looking for something slightly different, but want to remain in that kind of Icebreaker area, I would recommend reading this. I think The Deal also felt a little more outdated to me; just the settings seemed a little more 2010s. Whereas Icebreaker felt very current. That’s not a bad thing, I’m just saying that I noticed the differences for sure.

Like I said, this will be the same playlist as the Icebreaker one, so if you’ve given that a listen (doubt it) just know that this is the same vibe. Not as well executed (obviously). I hate to shit on this book so much, but I think I was just in the post Icebreaker letdown. However, if this vibe sounds appealing to you, maybe you should give my playlist a listen. Maybe you should read the book. However, I would recommend reading this book, and then Icebreaker. Maybe it’ll be a little flip. If you do that, let me know. Here’s the Link!
